I’ll get to Amy’s Rest in a second, but I wanted to check in and see how you were doing. I hope you’re staying safe and well, wherever you are.
It’s gotten sticky hot here in Queensland, which means spring and early summer storms are on the way. We had a big one just yesterday, in fact, with more predicted today and tomorrow.
I’m not a huge fan of storms, although my wife loves them, so it’s a bit of an anxious time for me and our dogs. Of course, Daisy and Ruby get to come inside during storms, so it’s sort of a lose-win situation for them.
Okay. Before I tell you about Amy’s Rest, I have a couple of things coming up that I want to tell you about.
Stocking Stuffer Sale
I’m having a Stocking Stuffer Sale on my novellas. From now until the end of November, Three Wishes and Written in the Stars are on sale for $7 each plus postage. These novellas are small enough to stick in someone’s stocking or perfect for a Secret Santa gift.
I’ve tried to work out a discount and postage scale to keep costs to you low, so all up, the books should cost you (per book, including postage):
$10 including postage for Aussie buyers, $15US, 12GBP or 13EU
If you’re outside of Australia, the US, or the UK and want copies, flick me an email to mail@srsilcox.com and I’ll get you sorted. I can’t add an overall Europe shipping designation so I’ll have to set you up individually.
To find out more or to pick up your copies, you can find them here.
Competition for Aussie cricket-lovers
I’ve teamed up with some amazing women’s cricket lovers over on Instagram to bring you a competition you’re not going to want to miss, especially if you know girls who play cricket.
The comp starts this weekend (31st October) and runs for a week, and involves your best WBBL star impersonations. Find out more about the prizes and how to enter here.
(As stated above, this one’s only for the Aussies.)
Amy’s Rest in Print
As I mentioned earlier, Amy’s Rest is finally coming to print. (Yay!) I’ve been holding off on getting this one to print because I wanted to do something a little more fancy with the interior of the print book, but I wasn’t entirely sure what.
I went ahead and hired an amazing formatter and designer, who came up with some unbelievable ideas for the book, and I wanted to give you a sneak peek before the book comes out.
So, wanna see?
This is the design that will be going on the title page:
And this design will be used on the chapter headers:
So very cool! I can’t wait to see this one in print. Once I have the proofs in my hot little hands, I’ll tell you how you can win one.
I’m off to prepare for Nanowrimo which starts this weekend. It’s the first time I’ve attempted it in years, and the last time didn’t go so well. I’m hoping I’m much more prepared this time around :)
If you’re attempting Nano this year, feel free to add me as a buddy (I’m SRSilcox), even if it’s just to track my progress and keep me motivated. I haven’t 100% decided, but I think I’m going to write the next book in the Elizabeth Creek series.
And if you’re into women’s cricket, or want to know a bit more, check out my pop-up newsletter, The Armchair Cricket Fan. It’ll be in operation throughout the Aussie cricketing summer, chatting primarily about the WBBL, which is on now, and the Aussie women’s cricket team whenever they play.
Phew! I really need to email you more often!
Chat soon,
